| One of my classes was cancelled today so we can go to a talk relating to it so I have more time than I thought I did!
Now all I have to do is get everything done this week! I need more time, I have my comprehensive exams the second monday of march, which is during spring break :-(\
I have sooooo much studying I should do by then! ARGGGGH! But at least I get to set up my computer tonight...YEAH! |

| I got a couple of toys today at Best Buy! I got a new Kodak 4 megapixel 10x Optical zoom Digital Camera and then a HP 2.66 Ghz 512 Mg Laptop! WOooooooooohoooooo!!!! I haven't had a chance to open and set them up yet, because I have so much work to do... but later this week watch out! PS They need an exited option for mood! I guess happy will do! |

| I am so sick of the people who continue complaining about the war in Iraq. Yes, they are entitled to their opinions but at least make them rational opinions please. Just because we have not found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, does not mean Bush, the CIA, whomever, was lying about their presence. Iraq is just about twice the size of Idaho and that's a hell of a lot of room to hide stuff in! If there are WMD is Iraq, we may never find them, that doesn't mean they don't exist! Furthermore, I can't help but say that the removal of Sadaam Hussein from power is anything but a good thing. That man was a festering sore in the middle east! The atrocities he has commited on his people for the sake of his own power and enjoyment are inexusable. Also, the news media keeps harping on the escalating loss of life in Iraq. Yes it is a tragedy that 500 soldiers have lost their lives in Iraq, but guess what, they choose that life. Just training to be a soldier in itself is a hazardous task, but all of those that died choose to be soldiers. Don't you think that those who died would rather have died fighting to overthrow a evil man and establish a democratic government, than die in a training accident? One final point, the Persian Gulf War never ended! Sadaam Hussein never fulfilled the terms of treaty ending the war, so a state of war has still existed between Iraq and the US. Clinton just choose not to prosecute that war, for whatever reasons he had. |

I have done some work preparing for the comps, reading lieanr Optimization buty Bertsima adn Tsitsiklis.
I probably should be doing this differently, but I just don't know how to start and linear programming
is such a powerful too that I should be able to use it a bunch on my comps. Oh well, back to studying |

| Another Thursday Bites the Dust |

| Woo Hoo, thursday is done once again and it is only two more weeks until thanksgiving. More
importantly I only have 5 more of my hideous probability class! That is the class that makes me
loathe tuesday and thursday! Not only is the prof not very good at teaching, he's assuming
almost a year worth of graduate level mathematics that isn't a prereq, and I would bet most of the
class hasn't had! That doesn't stop him from using it practically every friggin class! And then he
just glosses over the details assuming we don't care... or something. For instance, he almost constanly
uses integration with respect to a measure saying that it's just like a regular integral. That may be good enough
for the engineers etc in the class but it drives me freaking crazy! It's not a regular integral, because I know
what an integral means and how to evaluate it and I have no freaking clue what integration with respect to a measure
means! And I shouldn't have to, because Analysis is not a pre-req for this freaking course! But I talked to the person who
seems to be running the ACO comprehensives this year and he listened to me and didn't laugh at me, and
said that what is happening shouldn't be happening. It won't help me on the comprehensives but it made
me feel better to have someone other than a student listen to me! He also suggested a possible half-assed remedy.
There is another course being offered in the spring, its not the same course but it is over very similar material and at
a level that will appear on the comps. So I could take that, I won't get all the material I need but it might help. So I'm debating that.
Also, he gave me what the comprehensives are supposed to cover. Well, kind of, he gave what they were supposed
to cover before Tech went to semesters instead of quarters. So the list isn't entirely accurate
but it is at least a place to start, rather than a list of classes that may or may not cover what they are supposed to!
Now all I have to do is figure out how in the world I'm going to study for the comps! I think I'll start reviewing linear programming
when I next get some free time, maybe tomorrow? |

| So Nate gets a call this afternoon saying that the lady from Nalley want's to see him again! Suppossedly they are going to reduce his monthly payments some how and won't be requiring more in down payment. But I'm skeptical, so Nate has gone off to do that while I want for him to call either for me to pick him up or for him to tell me he's on his way home, so I can start dinner! I hope that if they try and screw him again that he just walks out on them! |

off the evil Nalley people today. I called the apartment complex people and told them I paid online, and they said "Oh, I'll tell the

| I know I know it's thursday, but yesterday sucked so bad I didn't feel like doing anything after it was over!
So to start off the day, nate wakes up and finds out he doesn't have his first class so he can go in later, the problem
is that I need to go in at the same time! So nate hurries to get ready ASAP and we leave at a reasonable time. But then
we spend 25 minutes waiting at MARTA for a stinking train. Actually, we could have left on 2 different trains but the PA wasn't working. When we
got to MARTA the announcer was saying get on the train that just arrived it will leave next. We get on that train, and what do you know, the other train leaves first!
Apparently the train we were on had a mechanical difficulty and they told everyone to get off, but the PA didn't work in our car so
we just sat there as the other train left. So we get off the train and it pulls away, probably to go get it's mechanical glitch fixed, but still! So we finally get on a train and get
into school and its too late for me to do what I needed to before class! So then I got to class, come back and wolf down my lunch and then head over the GTPD
to get fingerprinted. I get there maybe 15 minutes after noon, tell them I'm here to get fingerprinted and am told it will be a couple minutes. So I sit down to wait and probably about an
hour latter the guy comes out to fingerprint me! Apparently he was in an interview with the school paper the entire time! He was kind of upset that I was told that it was going to be only
a couple minutes so maybe the lady will get it from him! So I go to get fingerprinted expecting him to have to roll my fingers in ink :( But they had this cool thing that basically took
a digital picture of your fingers! It was sooooo neat! And it checked them after you were done to make sure they were good enough and printed them and all your infomation on the card!
It was really cool! He also said that I better not become a criminal because I have really good fingerprints ;-)! So I finishe that up and came back to my office to finish up my paperwork and
make copies so I could mail them out. So while I was doing that (at least I think it was while doing that) I had to help Naomi reginster because the ISU people are idiots! ::grrrr::
Then I finished up with my paperwork, made copies and mailed them, yeah!!! Then Nate and I left school to go meat with the business manager at Nalley Roswell about his car, we thought it was
about what Nate needed to do to get tags since he wasn't a state resident. But then they spring on him, that the bank has rejected his loan, or changed it or something and he needs to give them $700+
right now! Which he doesn't have! And no he can't have time to think about it and no he has no choice he must give them the money right now! So he agrees to give them a rubber check until he can get
them his credit card infomratoin. (I think this was a mistake, and I think they should have given him time, at least over night to make a decision but they weren't going to let him leave with the car is what it sounds like!
So tell everyone whose looking for a car, beware of a Nalley dealership they will screw you!) Anyways then we have the fight through traffic to get my car (which was why nate couldn't just leave, becasue we didn't have alternative transportation) .
After fighting through traffic we pick up my car, and Nate calls the Nalley dealership because he doesn't think he can find a way to afford the money on his rubber check. And they are just like, too bad so sad, you're screwed. So that wasn't happiness,
and so we head home with our cars. I get home, and what do I find in my door? A notice that if I don't pay the rent plus $75 in three days I have to vacate the premise!!! The problem is, I did pay the rent, like 3 days before it was do and 6 days before the end of the
grace period! So I'm upset about that and then I have to study for a test today (that I didn't do so hot on) in my least favorite class! So wednesday sucks! |

| The CarMax Saga Continues! |

| So the CarMax guy called today and the technician thinks he knows what's wrong with it! Woo Hoo!
He thinks I have some bad fuel injectors (intermittantly) but he want to make sure. So what he's going to
do is swap a couple of the fuel injectors around and give me the car back to drive it. Then when the check engine light comes
on again, he's going to run yet another diagnostic on it. Then if it tells him where he moved the
fuel injectors to is causing the problem, he'll know it's those fuel injectors and can replace them. If it's not, he'll start working on the
distributor as the source of the problem. So I'm going to have to take it back in again no matter what, but
at least we are making progress towards a solution! And I'm getting bunches of my inginition system replaced for free it
seems like! :-)

| Wow, I feel so happy! I can't believe how much I missed talking to people from high school. I just spent a half hour on the phone catching up with someone who graduated the year after me. She's getting married at an unknown future time, so I had called originally to congratulater her and get her to serve as a reference for my security forms. It just made me feel so much better talking to her, I guess I was getting kind of lonely here in the apartment with just me and Nate :-( In other news of the day, Nate just got a car! We went out to look at one he saw in the newspaper and he ended up getting another one! It cost more than he wanted to spend, but in the end the prospect of having transportation again was too hard to resist! |

So I went to B&N to get just that book, just one book I swear! What do you know, I walk out of there with 6! ::sighs:: Also, I now have my computer back on line! Woo Hoo, I'm still working on fiddling with the settings but it's back, yeah! |
